USAID Issues Online Record of Development Assistance

June 2, 2003

by US Agency for International Development

The US Agency for International Development has published an online version of the "US Overseas Loans and Grants, Obligations and Loan Authorizations July 1, 1945 - September 30, 2001," commonly known at AID as "The Greenbook."

The Greenbook shows a complete historical record of US foreign aid to the rest of the world. The Greenbook reports all loans and grants authorized by the US Government for each fiscal year from 1945 to 2001, and reports the assistance by purpose and by country.

The report contains summary figures of US Government foreign assistance for each year from 1945 to 2001 to all recipient countries.

From this site, users can access standard country tables already constructed, or users can create their own tables and reports by selecting recipient countries, years and type of US Government assistance.
