by Caribbean Community

Links to a variety of economic databases for states in the region, including trade and national accounts. Also includes links to discussions of statistical methods used in compiling databases; CARICOM meetings and workshops on statistics; and CARICOM statistical publications.

CARICOM's statistics sub-programme compiles statistics on the member countries of the Caribbean Community, i.e. Antigua and Barbuda; the Bahamas; Barbados; Belize; Dominica; Grenada; Guyana; Haiti; Jamaica; Montserrat; St. Kitts and Nevis; St. Lucia; Suriname; St. Vincent and the Grenadines; and Trinidad and Tobago.

Member states' National Statistics Offices or Central Banks submit these data to the CARICOM Secretariat, depending on the nature of the data. Occasionally, in the absence of data from the member states, databases rely upon third-party sources.

The data collected become resources for updates to databases, production of statistical reports, and providing specified data for analysis.

These web pages provide users with free access to selected datasets, basically in 'marked up' spreadsheets and savable as HTML files, which users can open later with any popular spreadsheet software.

Some of the datasets maintained are National Accounts, Balance of Payments and Trade in Services and data on the latest three years available are provided. Users may download longer time series from the Publications page or request them directly from the CARICOM Secretariat.
