ESRF's main objective involves building human and institutional capabilities in economic- and social-policy analysis and decision-making. The Foundation seeks to enhance the understanding of policy options within the Government, public sector, donor community and in the growing national non-governmental sector mainly, but not limited to Tanzania.
ESRF initiates and undertakes studies in economic and social policies; performs contracted studies in the field of economic and social policies; promotes informed policy dialogue among relevant actors in design and implementation of economic and social policies.
The Foundation also provides an institutional base for policy analysts, government economic managers, non-governmental policy actors, and academic policy researchers on leave.
In addition, ESRF collaborates with existing training institutions in organizing special training modules in economic and social policy analysis; and cooperates with other institutions in policy research, training and exchange of staff.
