Background and Interests:
Senior program professional with PhD-level research expertise in international relations with focus on humanitarian protection and peace-support operations; forced displacement (refugees and internally displaced) and war-affected populations; post-conflict reconstruction issues; gender in international relations and public policy. Nearly twenty years management experience in not-for-profit, educational and international settings, including five years each as chief operating officer of an international conflict and development research center and CEO of an international women’s organization. Proven track-record in organizational development and assessments, strategic planning, project design, fundraising and grants management for international programs focused on gender in international security, armed conflicts, and development. Field-level experience in Rwanda and Democratic Republic of Congo, among others. Extensive international travel and living experience in West Africa, Latin America, the U.S. and Western Europe; trilingual (German, English, French). German citizen with U.S. permanent residence. Creative thinker with superior ability for problem-solving, networking and communicating with diverse audiences.
