OAS Calls for Training Programs to Support with Travel Grants
June 7, 2003, Washington, DC
by OAS Department of Scholarships and Training
Each year, OAS invites high-quality academic institutions throughout the region to apply for travel grants to support students' attendance at selected training programs.
The content of courses proposed for support should provide training that respond to requirements for multilateral work in specific areas. A specialy-convened OAS panel will select programs to receive support through travel grants for enrolled students.
Last year, the OAS selected the following courses, among others, as part of an effort to provide training in highly demanded areas of study/training in the region:
* Peacebuilding and Development in Conflict Areas - Political Negotiation and Public Dialogue;
* Vulnerabilities Associated with Climatic Variability and Change in Central America and the Caribbean;
* Introduction to the Development of University Evaluation and Accreditation; and
* Regulatory and Privatization Issues in Telecommunications.
