GDN Sponsors Five-Week Visiting Fellowships at IMF
June 25, 2003, Washington, DC
by Global Development Network
Selections will result from an open competition, managed jointly by the networks, the GDN Secretariat and the IMF.
Regional networks will make an initial selection based on a determination of which researchers and projects would benefit most from participation in the program. The IMF and GDN will make the final selection based on the quality of the proposal, availability of relevant expertise in the Research Department, and interest in the research topic.
All researchers currently receiving funding from a GDN supported regional research competition or other GDN supported projects may apply to participate in this program. Applicants must submit a short proposal, no longer than three pages, based on the following four elements:
* A statement of the candidate's topic and its relation to research supported by regional networks or GDN supported research;
* A statement of the research method(s) the candidate plans to employ on the project during his/her attachment;
* A statement of the project's policy implications of the project; and
* A statement of how the opportunity to condicut research at the IMF would enhance the applicant's research capabilities.
According to the terms of this attachment, the IMF will support all travel, accommodation, subsistence and other allowances. Attachments will take place in Washington, D.C. between October 15, 2003 and April 30, 2004.
