UBC Recruits for Endowed Chair for the Study of Democracy

The successful applicant -- an established scholar with a
distinguished international reputation in the study of democracy or
democratization -- will preferably have a research focus on a particular institution.
The Univeristy will negotiate terms of the appointment, but candidates should expect a competitive initial package of salary, program, and research terms. One of the successful candidate's principal responsibilities will involve taking a leading role in building the University's Centre for the Study of Democracy.
The University hopes to make an appointment effective 1 July 2004.
